A small game I made for Father's Day in around 18 hours. It's recommended to play fullscreen.

WASD/Arrow Keys to move.

Spacebar/Left Click to shoot.

Hey,

A great game and quite interesting to play, Well done! Loved the minimal graphics with the particle effects. A few things to note here,

1. Check the Aspect Ratio of the game, as doing full screen stretches out the game which looks super bad. This might be happening due to the game resolution is fixed to portrait instead of adapting the other ratios.

2. Increase the difficulty slowly, as it becomes very difficult to play on start.

3. What about adding some screen shakes and other particle effects for the colliding asteroids.

4. Also why not add some cool power-ups.

5. The movement controls could be more fluid.

Hey there! Thanks for leaving a comment! The feedback is really helpful!

1. About the aspect ratio, I'm not sure why but it only keeps the aspect ratio if you use the fullscreen button at the bottom instead of the WebGL one...I'll look into that.

2. Ah yeah, I had trouble coming up with the right formula for increasing difficulty so that'll probably need a rework.

3. I actually totally forgot about screen shake. The game feel is definitely still lacking but that should help a little at least.

4. Oh yeah I had some barebones structure for a whole shop system but my pacing wasn't really that great and I didn't have as much time as I hoped so I couldn't get it implemented in time. I think this has a decent amount of potential so I'll probably add stuff.

5. I was trying to reproduce the old arcade-style games like alien invaders so I made the movements a bit clunky but I definitely see how it can be pretty uncomfortable (I actually just realized the speed going forward is a lot faster than the speed going back...oops).

I checked out some of your stuff! Really great assets! I'll definitely go to you if I ever need any assets!
